SHOCKING ★ CONTROVERSIAL ★ GRIPPING

When Jack (Levi Payne) and Kate (Sarah O’Byrne) first meet, the pair hit it off to a great start. Jack’s ever enthusiastic mother (played by the hilarious BBC Radio Lancashire Presenter Sally Naden) is eager to meet her son’s new girlfriend, but Jack has reservations. As time goes on, cracks in their relationship start to show and a tragic incident brings about revelations nobody ever expected.

New Live Theatre Company produced ‘A Walk in the Park’ at The John Cooper Clarke Theatre, Salford, in November 2013. The play, which was produced under tight-lipped secrecy, was directed by Gregg Scott and gained controversial reviews, including a 5 star review from The Good Review. The play was set to return in July 2014 at The Nexus Art Cafe, Manchester, however the run was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

A Walk in the Park was first discovered at the Manchester Theatre Showcase in 2013 when it was submitted to the event. The script was not selected by directors for inclusion in the showcase, but was later picked up by the company’s Artistic Director for a daring production later in the year.

Cast: Levi Payne (Jack), Sarah O’Byrne (Kate), Sally Naden (Wendy), Sean Fitton (Dave) and John Dayton (Hanson).
