SHOWCASE EVENING

All new writing, all new fun!

New Live Theatre will be holding our very first comedy play SHOWCASE EVENING in Manchester City Centre at a brand new venue called The Houldsworth on 26th July 2012!

As part of our ethos to work with local aspiring writers, New Live Theatre put out a call for scripts in May and has selected two brand new comedy-drama plays to showcase alongside our own Halloween comedy-thriller ’Spook Manor‘ !

The two new shows ‘Somebody, Somewhere‘, by Lee Thompson, and ‘Vain Zarathustra‘, by Mark Reid, will be showcased to an invited audience of local industry professionals, offering a great platform for all Writers and Actors involved. To bring these shows to life, we have enlisted the help of two local Directors, Chloe Lang and Alastair Zyggu who will each be directing one of the shows and working with a talent cast of local Actors (see cast list below).

But opportunity does not stop knocking when the curtain comes down! As well as having their talents showcased on stage and having the opportunity to network with guests throughout the night, at the end of the evening we will be asking the audience to vote on their favourite of the two plays by the external writers, and the winning play will be entered into our Manchester production schedule for a full length show in 2013! Invited Guests will receive press packs containing full details of each show to take away.

PLEASE NOTE: Each show will have approximately 10-15 minutes of stage time during the showcase. The evening’s previews are NOT meant to serve as full shows and it should be understood that each show is still in development and subject to change. The showcase is about development and creating a safe, constructive atmosphere for all participants.
