Alastair Zyggu directed Mark Reid’s new play ‘Vain Zarathustra’ at our Manchester Showcase Evening on 26th July 2012.

ABOUT ALASTAIR ZYGGU:

Alastair’s recent directing credits include ‘The Fix’, ‘In A Spin’, ‘The Rivals’, ‘Burglars’ and ‘The Wiz’, and many productions in central Europe with his own company which include, ‘Shakespeare In Love’, ‘Kabuki Gift’, and ‘Our Country’s Good’. Assistant Director for Oldham Coliseum Theatre productions of ‘Argy Bargy’ and ‘Old (Ham)Let’. 

As an actor Alastair has toured extensively with productions ranging from ‘Cabaret’ (playing ‘Emcee’), to playing the title role in Huckleberry Finn.
 
He is also a singer, teacher, musical composer and a published poet.

Following the death of Margaret Thatcher on the 8th April 2013, the Billy Elliot audience were polled that evening to see if they still wanted to hear the song Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher. The majority vote was for the song to be sung as planned and uncensored. Apparently 8 audience members walked out.
